Year 12 Health and Social Care students received confidence and communication training as part of the charity work that they are involved in. Jill Fraser from the charity ‘Kissing it Better’ and Lyn Darnley who was Head of Text, Voice and Artist Development at ‘The Royal Shakespeare Company’ kindly gave up their time to undertake a workshop to develop the skills and confidence of our year 12 students, particularly those who go and volunteer on the wards of Walsall Manor Hospital. The workshop provided students with strategies and techniques to be more confident and to be able to communicate and express themselves more effectively. The students were pushed out of their comfort zone and challenged to overcome some of their fears.
