On the evening of Friday 24th November, Pool Hayes welcomed Slam wrestling in to the school. The event kicked off at 7.15pm with an action packed, high intensity match with the despicable Corey igniting the crowd. This was followed by a best of 3 match with the charismatic showman, Tucay. A championship title ladder match followed and, as you would expect, there was a lot of screams and looks of amazement from the crowd as the ladders were thrown and flung around the ring and on to each other.
After the interval, and some much needed refreshments from Sandra in the kitchen, we were treated to the main event of the evening; a Royal Rumble. 10 men competing to throw each other out of the ring at any given moment resulted in carnage inside.
The crowd were noisy, our kids well behaved and a good time was had by all. Luke Douton of Slam wrestling said “the lads can’t wait for next year; they were an amazing crowd”. Having shown them what the kids had been working on in their literacy unit, and some of the work produced, there were some very jealous wrestlers wishing that they could have studied here at Pool Hayes.
At the end of the evening we managed to raise a total of £200.50 for Teenage Cancer Trust.Back to News
