Tuesday 27th March saw students from years 10,11,12 and 13 go to the Skills and Apprenticeship show at Dunstall Park Racecourse. The event organised by Wolverhampton College is now in its 5th year and was host to a wide variety of businesses and training providers. Students were able to talk to employers, universities, training providers and careers advisors from across the region to help them make informed decisions about their career options.
Moog, BAE and UTC Aerospace Systems were a strong draw for our sixth form students interested in Engineering. Whilst our Y11 students looked at the mechanics and construction stands. The show was really busy with many of the college students showcasing their talents in hairdressing and barbering by offering restyling and haircuts. The catering students were dishing up a really tasty stir fry and our students got the chance to decorate their own cupcake. For those interested in Forensics students could study a mock crime scene and get hands on carrying out testing on the samples of evidence.
All the students were really positive about the visit and made a good impression on all the people they spoke to.
