Monday 24th June saw 31 students visit Blakemore’s in Willenhall. The students have all been part of a mentoring programme run by Blakemore’s. Staff have been coming into school each week and through the sessions have taken the pupils on a journey of self-discovery. By using mindfulness techniques pupils have taken on board ‘tools’ to help them to cope with stresses both at school and in family life. Today saw the pupils visit the Blakemore’s site in Willenhall, here they were able to see the behind the scenes operation, which sees large quantities of food and drink, come into the depot where it is stored until needed by its customers. Pupils visited the ambient and chilled areas many saying that seeing all of the food was making them hungry. They also got the opportunity to see inside one of the brand new delivery lorries.
Pupils also took part in a quiz and had a delicious lunch before receiving their certificates and goody bags. Then it was time to return to school with some very happy students. Our thanks go to the staff at Blakemore’s for enabling us to have this brilliant experience. #PHAntastic
