Governance at Pool Hayes Academy
Governance is an integral part of the leadership and management of all of the Academy Transformation Trust (ATT) academies. Good governance has a huge impact on our staff and students and overall this leads to good and outstanding outcomes.
Pool Hayes Academy benefits from personalised support for the Local Governing Body from the ATT in order to support us in achieving outstanding governance which includes:
- extensive guidance for Governors on their role, including high quality online training, bespoke training and a Governors’ Handbook for reference
- an online Governors’ Portal providing access to all relevant minutes and documents
- an annual Governors’ Conference to share the latest updates and training
- a regular review of Governor’s contribution to each academy’s progress
- access to legal advice on all governance issues

Local Governing Body Meetings:
The governors meet on a half term basis and all governors have full voting rights.
There are additional governor committees which take place through the year including the Policy & Procedures Committee (termly) and the Student Disciplinary Panel (half-termly).
Further sessions are arranged on a case-by-case basis.
The relevant documentation pertaining to the Governor Meetings is available on request from the school via Jayne Vecchio, Clerk to the Governors.
Also, the Instrument of Government for the Governing Body is in place and is available on request from the school via Jayne Vecchio, Clerk to the Governors.
Furthermore, the Register of Interests of the Principal and Governors is available on request from the school via Jayne Vecchio, Clerk to the Governors.
The Governing Body has gone through formal reconstitution and membership is currently full.
No governors have any business interests which represent a conflict of interest with their duties as a governor at the academy.
